Is Adele just not meant to sing for American fans? The British songstress has once again canceled a sold-out U.S. tour due to illness.
Earlier in the year, the "Rolling in the Deep" singer scrapped her summer tour due to laryngitis -- and now she's suffering from a vocal-chord hemorrhage, her label says. According to Columbia Records, doctors have advised Adele to take "an extended rest period" until she's fully recuperated and can return to the stage.
The 23-year-old Grammy winner was supposed to kick off a 10-city tour on Oct. 7 in Atlantic City, N.J., with stops in North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee and Texas. Instead, disappointed fans will have to get their full refunds while Adele's home apologizing via her website.
"Singing is literally my life, its my hobbie, my love, my freedom and now my job. I have absolutely no choice but to recuperate properly and fully, or i risk damaging my voice forever," she writes.
Adele adds that she's as "devastated and annoyed" at pulling the plug again as her fans must be and then formally asks for forgiveness:
"I apologise from the bottom of my heart, sincerely I do. I know it's not only disappointing because of the show, but it's plane tickets, hotel bookings, birthdays, anniversaries and time wasted," she writes. "But please have faith in me that this is the only thing I can do to make sure I can always sing and always make music for you to the best of my ability. Truly yours and yours only forever, adele x"
Maybe the third time will be the charm!
