SPCA hopes pics will get pets a home | WAVY.com | Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Abandoned pets at the Virginia Beach SPCA were primped and prepped Thursday for their very own photo shoot.

Shelter Me Photography spent the day taking photographs of the shelter animals.

Sharon Adams, with the Virginia Beach SPCA, said professional photos of shelter pets can move their waiting time for a home from years to mere days.

"I think it can sort of help people make that step into a shelter. They're reluctant, they think it's a sad place, they're not sure about the animals. They're hesitant. They want to come, they think it's the right thing to do and sometimes they just need a nudge, and these wonderful photographs can be the nudge that they need," Adams said.

Adams added that she thinks there will be a significant improvement in adoption within two weeks.
